Moxibustion

Moxibustion, or moxa, is a warming treatment that involves burning a plant called mugwort over the body. There are a variety of moxa techniques and tools that can be used during treatment. Moxibustion is used to treat many different conditions including arthritis, stress, shingles, muscle pain, bone pain, menstrual pain, and weak digestion.
Moxa treatment is painless and relaxing and is often combined with Acupuncture during an appointment.
Cupping

Cupping is a technique that involves the suction of glass cups to the skin. The cups can be applied in a variety of ways during your appointment and can be used on most places of the body. Cupping can benefit many different conditions including, asthma and cough, cold and flu, muscle pain, and stress.
Cupping treatment is very comfortable and relaxing and can be combined with Acupuncture during an appointment at no additional charge.

Massage
TuiNa is a Chinese Massage Style that is used in this clinic. TuiNa is a musculoskeletal focused massage that is effective for treating body pain. TuiNa techniques also include deep stretching, traction, and tissue work.
TuiNa Massage may be combined with Acupuncture during your appointment or can be scheduled as a separate service.

Guasha
Guasha is a bodywork technique that involves rubbing various tools across the skin to treat the soft tissues of the body. Guasha treatment can be mild or strong depending on the condition being treated, and a variety of different tools ranging from jade to Guasha spoons are used. Guasha can be used for many conditions including muscle pain, coughs and colds, and headaches.

Eastern Nutrition
Traditionally, foods were consumed according to seasons and constitution for prevention or healing. Foods are categorized according to their taste and temperature and are usually incorporated into the daily diet in small amounts. While some foods may be better suited for your current condition, the golden rule always applies: “Everything in moderation”. A balanced diet is as important as a balanced lifestyle. An acupuncturist may recommend foods based on the body’s constitution or to provide support for the body according to its current needs.

Facial Acupuncture
As Chinese medicine always treats the whole person, facial acupuncture addresses the whole body with a special focus on the face. The tiny needles used in the treatment of wrinkles cause micro-injury to the skin, which encourage the body to produce more collagen and increase blood circulation in the area of insertion. As a result, wrinkles soften and diminish, and the skin appears smooth and firm with more vitality. A series of 12 treatments are typically recommended once a year, although patients may choose to schedule additional treatments once a month as a form of maintenance.

Additional techniques can be used during facial rejuvenation treatment such as facial massage, gentle guasha, or cupping. Some dietary recommendations according to Eastern nutrition principles may be suggested as well.

​Engystol Injections
Engystol® is an immunostimulating homeopathic remedy which has been scientifically proven to significantly reduce the duration and severity of symptoms during an acute viral infection (when given as a treatment) and helps protect against subsequent infections (when given as prophylaxis).
